is an artist and educator whose practice and teachings are motivated by her experiences raised in a multi-ethnic household, her connection to nature, and her interest in community arts.
Born and raised in New York City, Sara works as an Art Educator teaching young students to use art as a means of understanding the world around them and how they see themselves in it. Having grown up as a dancer, she is a firm believer that all forms of art strengthen communities, and are not only valuable, but a necessity to life. Her background in street art is woven into her teachings as she demonstrates the importance of art- both permanent and impermanent.
She holds an MA in Art Education from the City College of New York and a Bachelor’s in Visual Arts from SUNY New Paltz.
She lives with her partner, their young human, and adopted turtle.
